If I paid money to WA state and have a 1099-R form for it, why can't I enter it on my federal and receive my return?

I want my return for monies paid to WA state from  my pension plan because I have a 1099-R form for it.  Why can't I enter  it anywhere?

Not sure what you mean when you refer to "monies paid to WA state from my pension" since WA has no state income tax.

You have to enter your 1099R on your federal return.

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
