If I fully paid back my SS overpayment in Dec. 2024 in 2 installments but only one is showing as being paid on my SSA-1099, can I claim the entire amount if I have proof?

The payments were made on the last few days of the year. Per my bank account, the final payment was posted 12/31. This is the second year I'm being penalized tax-wise for SS Admins inability to terminate benefits in a timely manner. I'm hoping to avoid another year of owing to the feds because of it.

Yes, if you made the payment in 2024 you can report in 2024 even if the SSA did not include it on your SSA-1099.  Of course you must remember not to report it again in 2025!
