I work in social service department. I contribute in retirement plan. in my w2, box 13 is checked for retirement. but box 12 d is blank, why?

If you had money withheld from your paycheck to contribute to your Employer's Retirement Plan in 2018, it should be reported in Box 12 of your Form W-2. 

If you received a paycheck in 2018 showing money was held for retirement plan contributions, I recommend that you contact your Employer so that they can issue you a corrected W2.
