I withdrew $3,000 from my Roth in 2023, early distribution. I contributed $4,000 to my Roth in 2023. Why is this showing as taxable? Where do I enter 2023 contributions?

Turbo Tax desktop Premier 2023 does not let me enter my 2023 contributions. It only let me enter my 2023 early distribution. It is my understanding that as long as I take out less than I contributed this is not taxable but TT is ONLY asking me for contributions PRIOR to 2023.  What am I missing?

Please make sure you enter your $4,000 Roth IRA contribution for 2023 in the IRA contribution section:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  2. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  3. Select “Roth IRA
