I was paid by my landlord to move out of my apartment, I did not receive any tax form from her for this taxable income. How do I report this taxable income?

The building that I was living in was sold by my landlord, as part of our agreement for myself moving out early (to terminate the lease) I was paid a certain amount when the building was sold and closed. I never got a tax form to properly report this income, but I sent the landlord a W9 to capture my taxable income. How do I report this income?

You can report as Miscellaneous Income.

Under Less Common Income select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C

  1. On the Let's Work on Any Miscellaneous Income page, select Start to the right of Other reportable income
  2. On the Any Other Taxable Income? screen, select Yes
  3. On the Other Taxable Income screen enter the description and the amount.  Select Continue
  4. On the Other Miscellaneous Income Summary screen, select Done
