I was paid $6261.00 from unemployment with $629.00 taken out for taxes. I entered this info in TurboTax but when I go to review my information, it doubled that amount to over $12,000 which is obviousl

There are a couple things you can try to fix the issue of your 1099-G amount doubling.

Type '1099-G' in the Search window, then 'Jump to 1099g'.  EDIT your 1099-G and go completely through the section again.

Or, in the left-side menu, choose 'Tax Tools', then 'Tools', then 'Delete a Form' from the pop-up menu.

You will see a listing of all the forms in your return.  Scroll to 1099-G and choose DELETE at the far right.

Go back into your return and re-enter your 1099-G through the Search.

Are you sure you are looking at the unemployment amount  or the standard deduction for being single ???   If you did not enter the amount twice then look at the actual form 1040 lines 9 &  12 and the Sch 1 line 7 ...

How do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?

You can view your entire return or just your 1040 form before you e-file:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Select Tax Tools in the left menu (if you don't see this, select the menu icon in the upper-left corner).
  3. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then:
    • Preview your entire return: Select Print Center and then Print, Save, or Preview This Year's Return (you may be asked to register or pay first).
    • View only your 1040 form: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu.

Finally found the actual fix while looking through other questions on here. Almsot said screw it and just filed which would have been bad. Here's the fix that worked for me. :

You may have duplicate 1099-G form entries that need to be deleted directly from the list of forms as follows:

  1. Tax tools (on the left menu bar)
  2. Tools
  3. Delete a form

Find any duplicate form 1099-G's in the list and delete the forms.

There were two 1099-G forms on mine for some reason. Such a simple fix for the tax experts to not be giving clear instructions on...
