You should have received a Form 1099-R for the distribution. To enter the 1099-R in TurboTax, type 1099-r in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to 1099-r."
If you don't have the 1099-R, contact the IRA custodian and ask for another copy.
I have the 1099 R when I try to post it into turbo tax under that topic it won't let me post it. So I did not finish my taxes and now I'm delinquent. No happy. This was a a rith that I take money out if every year. Don't understand why not
I don't need another copy. I have the 1099 R
Turbo won't let me post it
Please be more specific about what you mean by "won't let me." What exactly happens when you try to enter the 1099-R? Are you entering it manually or trying to import it? What screen are you on when you have a problem? Do you get to the screen where you enter all the information from the 1099-R? If you get an error message, what is the complete exact message?
If you are trying to import the 1099-R, enter it manually instead. On the screen that asks "How do you want to enter your 1099-R," select "I'll type it in myself." If you are on the screen that says "Search for Your Financial Institution," click the button at the bottom that says "Skip Search."
