You should have received a Form 1099-R for the distribution. To enter the 1099-R in TurboTax, type 1099-r in the Search box, then click the link that says "Jump to 1099-r."

If you don't have the 1099-R, contact the IRA custodian and ask for another copy.

Please be more specific about what you mean by "won't let me." What exactly happens when you try to enter the 1099-R? Are you entering it manually or trying to import it? What screen are you on when you have a problem? Do you get to the screen where you enter all the information from the 1099-R? If you get an error message, what is the complete exact message?

If you are trying to import the 1099-R, enter it manually instead. On the screen that asks "How do you want to enter your 1099-R," select "I'll type it in myself." If you are on the screen that says "Search for Your Financial Institution," click the button at the bottom that says "Skip Search."

Manually.  Seriously, the screen didn't move.
