I took a Coronavirus-related disaster distribution in 2020. I also elected to spread it out over three years. Where do I find disaster name for form 8915E-T?

Also asking for the FEMA disaster number on form.

You do not need to enter a disaster name from FEMA for the Coronavirus related disaster.  Please follow the steps below.

  1. Wages & Income > Retirement Plans and Social Security >
  2. IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) >  Start, Revisit or Update > Continue
  3. Answer Yes  'Have you ever taken a disaster distribution before 2021?
  4. Answer Yes, You had a 2020 Qualified Disaster Distribution
  5. Complete the Information using your 2020 Tax return > Continue
  6. Enter any amount you may have repaid in 2021
  7. Finish the entry for your spouse if applicable or just click Continue
  8. Complete any additional retirement questions as you move through this section
  9. Continue until you have finished and returned back to the Wages & Income Screen.
  10. Do NOT stop and change sections without completing it.

The response doesn’t help. If you enter both the 1/3 amount on line 9, it will route you to enter in the FEMA disaster info. However I left the first 9 box empty and only entered the 2nd 9 and it let me bypass entering the FEMA info. I’m holding off until the end of the week because it wouldn’t make sense to only have 1 of the box 9’s filled in and not the other. It’s asking for the same information? Very confusing!

Investigation-20057 has confirmed an issue with the 8915-F today.  Please have patience while the programmers make adjustments.
