I see that the IRS released Form 172 last December to complete for NOL. I can't find it in Premier. Also, it doesn't appear to calculate the 80% rule (or in TT). Ideas?

Although you can enter the NOL you calculated using the Worksheet in IRS Pub. 536, TurboTax does not calculate it for you.

You can enter your NOLs in TurboTax Online by following these steps:

  1. Within your Federal return, click on Income & Expenses at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down to Other Business Situations and click Show more.
  3. Choose Start on the line for Net Operating Loss/QBI Carryforward Loss and progress through the interview.

To enter your NOL in TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Click on Wages & Income
  2. Scroll Down to Business Items, Business Deductions & Credits
  3. Choose Business Loss Carryovers (NOL, QBI)
