I recieved payments from my qualfied 401k and when the program placed it on my Maryland state form, it changed it to a Pension. I believe this may be a bug.

In Maryland, distributions from a 401(k) are treated the same as distributions from pensions.  The distributions from your 401(k) are eligible for the Maryland pension exclusion (provided the requirements are met).
