I received a lump sum in 2018 for disability but it was for 2 years. Turbotax is only allowing 1 year to be put in for which year the payment is for. What do I do?

If you received a lump-sum distribution from Social Security reported on a 1099-SSA, you can indicate how much of the amount is for the current year, and how much is for a previous year.

Once you indicate that you received a 'lump sum' and enter the amount, click on 'Add another lump sum' to add another year's amount.

Type '1099ssa' in the Search window, then  'Jump to 1099ssa' to get back to your entry to Edit.
