I need to see my AGI for 2020, right now as I do my taxes, so I can determine how much IRA contributions I can make. Do I need to use something else to do that?

If your taxes are complete you can find your 2020 AGI on line 11 of your form 1040 Tax return.

To find you tax return in the online version of Turbo tax:

  1. On the menu bar on the left that shows.
    1. My Info
    2. Federal
    3. State
    4. Review
    5. File
  2. Select Tax Tools
  3. On the drop down select Tools
  4. From Pop up menu
    1. View Tax Summary
    2. On the left sidebar
      1. Preview my 1040
      2. This will bring up your current tax return

An additional alternative is to go through the IRA contribution interview and it will give you an amount.

  1. Deductions and Credits
  2. Scroll to Retirement and Investments
  3. Choose Traditional and Roth IRA Contribution
  4. Continue through the questions
  5. You will come to Your IRA Deduction Summary

As far as I can tell, that almost works. You have to put in fake contribution numbers, and then see if they are allowed. If you put in 0, and it says amount allowed 0, you don't know if that's because you put in 0, or if it's a real number.

Meanwhile, to get the AGI, I had to pay first, then go through the process.
