I need help filing my taxes I'm on Social Security retirement and VA benefits didn't work last year due to injury

If your only income was Social Security and VA benefits you do not have to file a tax return, unless you had any taxes withheld from your SS and want to seek a refund.  Otherwise the Social Security benefits and VA benefits are not taxable.

yes I need help I have taxes taken out of my social security check each month

Then enter your SSA1099  carefully to show that you had tax withheld so that you get a refund.

 

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
