I inherited the retirement plan from my deceased husband. I am 64 years old and should not pay RMD of $985. How can I correct this on my taxes?

It depends if you rolled the account over into your own account.  If you left the account the same, you would be charged the RMD amount if your husband was required to make an RMD payment for this year. If you rolled this over into your own IRA, you don't pay the required minimum distribution until you are 73 years old.

If you complete the rollover within 60 days of the distribution, you wouldn't need to pay RMD.
