I filed taxes I think in 2017/2018 to find out I didn't have to file ever again, I get soc sec, alimony and pension awarded from courts, I am trying to do the right thins so I can get my stimulas check, My pension it keeps asking me did I cash out, I get in monthly court order awarded for being married 25 yrs I was entitled to 1/2 pension and that's how I pay my bills, I draw pension, ssa and alimony just trying to file on turbo tax so I can at least get my stimulas check now, don't know what to do, all irs articles said people drawing ssa wouldn't not have to do anything to get the check, well here it is June 10th and no check, can u help me please?
I don't know about your Stimulus situation but there is nothing that can tell you that you never have to file again. Unless you only get Social Security.
If you have pension income and alimony they are both taxable. If you get a monthly pension check that is the same as getting the cash each month.
If it's asking what you did with the money. It should have 2 choices. If you didn't do the first one then just select the other one. All it really wants to know is if you rolled it over or put it into another retirement account or even back to the same account.
If you get a monthly pension check then pick the other circle for I did something else with it. You did get the cash each month. That is "something else”.
