I have been furnished a SSA-1099-SM form for my 2020 SSA income. This form does not have pertinent info like payer's address. How do I handle 1099-SM?

Form SSA-1099 in the program does not ask for this information.

If it's asking for an EIN number you are entering it in the wrong place. There is no EIN on social security SSA-1099.

Enter a SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM or RRB-1099 under

Federal Taxes on the left side or top

Wages and Income

Then scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security

Then the second line - Social Security (SSA-1099. RRB-1099) - click the Start or Revisit button

I request to add a new 1099-R for my SSA income and am taken to "Who gave you a 1099-R?" and I use the "Financial institution or other provider" and continue to "Enter your 1099-R provider's info" which asks for the provider's address, Payer's TIN and other info not listed on my 1099=SM form. I enter the only data I have of "Social Security Administration" and hit continue which carries me to "Enter your 1099-R details from social security administration". No TurboTax form I have encountered resembles your screen shot nor does my 1099-SM form box configuration correlate to your screen shot. I've used TurboTax for several years previous to this and never had an issue of any sort. What should I do?

Your social security on SSA-1099 is NOT a 1099R.  It is a SSA-1099 and has it's own spot.  See my screen shot above.

Or are you using the Desktop installed program?  Which version?

Why dos Turbotax tell me it is not required if it flags it as a mistake on the my Federal review?

If your SSA-1099-SM is for your dependent, you don't need to enter it in your return.

Type '1099-SSA' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1099-ssa' to get back to this section.

At the Summary page, you can Delete the SSA-1099-SM.

This will be reported on your dependent's return (if they are required to file a return).
