I have a pension from Ford Motor Co. Is that considered a private-source pension or not?

That's Private. Corporate/Company/IRAs/most all 401k's are all private

Public is from a Governmental body....Federal/State/Military/City/County/Teacher's/Police&Firemen and the like from pensions provided to our govt workers.
