I have a 1099-R for a Retirement Pension. It is an annual payment and not an RMD. Turbo wants to know what portion was an RMD. How eo I enter this?

Why am I being asked for an RMD for a retirement pension that is not an IRA?

1. If you are receiving a required payment, it would include RMD, if applicable. There can be penalties if you should have RMD and did not take it. It does not hurt to say yes if it does not apply.

2. It is easier to ask RMD once than to determine if you have a defined contribution plan and then ask. See RMD Comparison Chart (IRAs vs. Defined Contribution Plans).
