I got my 1099R from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. Why can't I enter them as the payer on my tax form?

What is preventing you from entering Teacher Retirement System of Texas as the payer on your 1099-R? What happens when you try to enter it? If you get an error message, what is the exact message?

Which part of the payer information are you unable to enter: the payer name? the address? the Federal ID Number?

When TurboTax asked you what kind of 1099-R you have, did you select Form 1099-R or one of the other types? The other types have specific payers.

Are you trying to import the 1099-R? The Teacher Retirement System of Texas is not a TurboTax import partner. You have to enter the 1099-R manually.

Don't enter the bank or broker name and don't try to import it.  It is just as fast and easy to manually enter it.  At the bottom pick -  Change How I enter my Form

Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself
