I entered an interest amount frrom 1099 but Turbotax shows a different amount. I have tried several times but cannot edit. How do I correct?

The interest income is entered through the Wages and Income section of your return.  You can go through that section to see if there is an entry you need to deduct.  If not, maybe you would like to send a token so that we can actually review your tax return. First try to remove the cache and cookies.  Be sure to close your return before hand.  This removes pieces of data you thought were deleted, but remain in the background causing havoc.

• How to clear your cache

Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools. 

1. Then select Tools below Tax Tools. 
2. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.  
3. On this screen, select Share my file with Agent. 
4. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number. 
5. Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.  

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

or...describe which boxes you used on the 1099-INT form....sometimes the other boxes will affect the total of boxes 1 and 3.
