I entered a Roth 1099-R and got taxed on profit. i had it for over 5 years and i am 70 old. box 7 =T, box 2a is blank, and 2b is taxable amount not determined.
After entering the Form 1099-R and answering the immediate follow-up questions, click the Continue button on the Your 1099-R entries page and, when asked, indicate that you've had a Roth IRA for 5 years or more. This will cause TurboTax to treat the distribution as a qualified distribution, tax and penalty free, the same as if the payer had reported the distribution with code Q. No Form 8606 will be needed.
I may be wrong, but a 1099-R is not issued for withdrawals from a ROTH, unless it's an early withdrawal or something else occurs that makes it a reportable event. What is the code in box 7 of that 1099-R?
All distributions from a Roth IRA are required to be reported on Forms 1099-R.

When you enter your Roth IRA into Turbo Tax, the entire amount of the distribution will be reported on line 15a (Form 1040) or line 11a (Form 1040A). That just reports it; it doesn't mean it's taxable.
If code T is in box 7, then it should show as non-taxable on line 15b (Form 1040) or line 11b (Form 1040A).
If it's still showing up as taxable, delete it from the input screen, then try again.
