I don't want to take the Retirement Tax Credit of $200 because I will no longer be able to use the Free Turbo Tax and forces me to upgrade. How to remove this credit?

It costs me $69 to purchase Turbo Tax Deluxe and it's required because I have a $200 Retirement Savings Contribution Credit... how can I remove this credit from my return and keep the FREE edition?

You can trick the software into disqualifying you for that credit by saying in MY INFO that you were a student.  Or you can keep the credit and use other free software.

Use this IRS site for other ways to file for free.  There are 8  free software versions available from the IRS Free File site

https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/

Or—if you live in certain states you may be eligible to use the new IRS Direct File

( AZ, CA, FL, MA, NH, NV, NY, SD, TN, TX, WA, WY )
