I don't think I entered an amount for an IRA contribution on my Riversource 1099-R. Can you show me where that should be entered?

1099-R forms reports distributions from retirement plans, not contributions. If you made a contribution to your IRA account, then enter that in the IRA section under Deductions & Credits.

  • In your open return, select My Account
  • Tools
  • Topic Search
  • Type 'ira contributions' in the box, then select GO

Note: If you already filed, then you would need to amend your return to make changes to it.
