I contributed $5,500 to a Roth IRA, and then had to withdraw my contribution amount + gains. Do i Indicate that i withdrew the contribution (5500) or total?

When TurboTax asks how much of the contribution you had returned to you, answer $5,500.  The amount of contribution returned was $5,500 while the adjusted amount distributed was $5,500 plus gains.
