I closed out a retirement 401k and used it to pay bills... they either did not send or ive lost the 1099 for that income... What do I do?

its from empower retirement if that helps

You'll need to contact Empower Retirement and ask them for a copy of the 1099-R. You can't import the 1099-R because they don't participate in the TurboTax Partner program.

If you don't think you'll have the 1099-R by the filing deadline (April 18, 2017), you may file an extension. Just keep in mind that this is an extension of time to file, not an extension of time to pay. If you will owe taxes, you should send payment to the IRS when you file your extension. In your case, you may owe taxes because your 401(k) distribution will be taxable (unless it was from a Roth 401(k) plan). Also, if this was an early distribution (taken before your were age 59½) it is subject to an additional 10% tax.
