I came into TurboTax Via Fidelity, why are they asking for money?

The Fidelity discount is $20 off the usual price of Self-employed product. It is not free.

Some Fidelity customers with high balances do get a Free offer for Premier...not sure what happens if you are going to be using Online "SE" version.

But others have also noted issues with getting either the Free, or the discount applied.

You could call your Fidelity Rep and let them know it's not getting applied....even when you go thru the proper procedure of starting on the Fidelity website.

There may be some kind of disconnect....or...perhaps you have a cookie blocker installed that prevents the discount from being passed thru to the TTX website.

(The Brave browser is particularly agressive)

$99 is $20 off the regular $119 non-discounted SE version.

Any states to be added?..... will be an additional $59 each.

______________

Your choice.....Fair or not...gotta pay for all those software and support staff.

Last year, NOT A PENNY CHARGED!  And nothing has changed on my end. I take NO deductions on schedule C so $99 for that is absolutely ridiculous - again a bleeping ripoff!

$99 is low compared to other tax prep software options you will find.

If your AGI is low enough,

visit the IRS at https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

to find truly free filing. Note that some include free state as well; that's important.
