I am retired. I do not have any W-2s. TurboTax keeps forcing me to go back and correct my W-2 information. Over, and over and over. I hat TurboTax!

I hate TurboTax!

Yes, you can file a return with no W-2 form, but since most people have one, the program will ask you for one.

If this is the first year you used TurboTax, or you started a new account rather than rolling last year's information forward, you can select I don't have a W-2 when the question comes up.

If this isn't the first year you used TurboTax, the program may have rolled your old W-2 form forward for you to save you time.

If that's the case, you can delete the unused W-2 form:

  1. Open you return.
  2. Select Federal, then Wages & Income.
  3. To the right of Job (W-2), select Edit/ Add.
  4. Select the trash can icon below the W-2 information to delete it. Repeat if you have more than one.
  5. Select Continue to return to the Wages & Income screen.
