I am getting an error when I add my 1099R forms to Turbo Tax. The total of my 1099R's is $23,000, Turbo tax says that my RMD is $22,604 yet it says that I am short $6100

It wants to penalize me $610 for this. There is an obvious problem with Turbo Tax. Van someone help. I would like to do my taxes early but this is holding me up!

There was an issue in TurboTax with the RMD calculation when multiple accounts were involved.  A program update was released on 2/21/25, resolving this issue.

Please review your 1099-R entries in TurboTax and complete all of the follow-up interview questions.  Once you are done updating your 1099-R entries, click Continue and answer those follow-up questions.  Once you have completed these steps, the extra $610 tax should be removed.

If you’re still experiencing an issue, please post here so that we can assist you further.
