I am filing jointly, can the 1099 R all go under the same name? Or how can I change the names in the IRA, 401K, Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099 R) section?

No, if you are filing jointly, you should not report all the 1099-R's under the same name.

First, make sure that you entered that you are filing a joint return in the "My Info" section.  Once this is indicated, you should be given the option to input each form as Taxpayer or Spouse when entering your Form 1099-R's.

Follow these steps to indicate that you are filing jointly if you haven't already:

  • Log into your Turbo Tax Online account.
  • Select "Take me to my return"
  • Click "My Info" located on the left side of your screen
  • Click "Edit" next to your filing status
  • Indicate that you were Married on December 31, 2018
  • Choose "Yes" you want to file this return together with your spouse
