I am asking how to inter my 1099R Military retired pay. I am asked for a bank or financial inst. which will not work as this is from DFAS.

To enter the 1099-R, follow these steps:

1. Click Wage & Income
2. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security and click show more
3. Click Start next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
4. Click Yes for "Did you get a 1099-R
5. Click "Change how I enter my form" Under Let's import your tax info
6. Click Type it in myself
7. Finish remainder of 1099-R entries
