How to report inherited Nonqualified pension & DCP in TurboTax? Income is reported on 1099-MISC in box 3. TurboTax keeps think it is self-employed income.

My husband passed and I still receive a reduced portion of his Nonqualified pension and a Deferred Compensation plan. The income was reported on a W-2 in 2022 & 2023. In 2024 the pension and DCP custodian started reporting the distributions on form 1099-MISC and put the distribution amount in BOX 3 (Other income). I thought they would have entered the income in box 15 (Nonqualified deferred compensation). However, I have done some research and apparently it is reported correctly since the plans are inherited. I just don't know how to get TurboTax to understand the income is from a NQ pension and NQ DCP and not Self-employed income which is what it is currently doing and charging me employment taxes. Does anyone know how to get this to report correctly?

You can enter as Miscellaneous Income.

Under Less Common Income select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
On the Let's Work on Any Miscellaneous Income page, select Start to the right of Other reportable income
On the Any Other Taxable Income? screen, select Yes
On the Other Taxable Income screen enter the description "1099-MISC income," then the amount.  Select Continue
On the Other Miscellaneous Income Summary screen, select Done
