How is social security retirement benifits taxed in North Carolina and how is unemployment taxed in North Carolina

SS...no.

Unemployment...don't know...havent researched that one

Unemployment benefits are taxed as income in NC but, as SU SteamTrain indicated, Social Security benefits are not.
