How does govt get copies of myw2,1099r,etc,when i file online. do i just keep the fed and state copies with my tax info

since im not sending the actual hard copies, do i just keep them

They get electronic copies of the data you enter in your tax return. They also get copies from whoever sent the forms to you. Just keep your hard copies with your tax files.
