Are you referring to a 1099-B? If so, here's how to import it from your financial institution into TurboTax:
- Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return.
- Search for 1099-B and select the Jump to link in the search results.
- Follow the screens and you’ll be able to import your form.
Please keep in mind that your financial institution has until March 31, 2020 to provide you with the form.
You also have the option of manually entering your 1099-B. Here's how:
- Open (continue) your return if it isn't already open.
- In TurboTax, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
- Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2019? If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
- Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
- At Let's get your tax info, choose how you want to enter your 1099-B (type it in yourself).
- Follow the instructions.
