After completing my taxes this year, TurboTax gave me a validation error on the ORA Contributions Worksheet form. However, I haven't made any contributions to an IRA, only to a 401k. Error message is below: Check This Entry IRA Contributions Worksheet: Line 26 - Taxpayer's excess Roth IRA contribution credit should be equal to $2606.00, the Roth IRA contribution credit from Form 5329, Part IV. I'm guessing I filled something out incorrectly earlier in the process that is causing this error message but I cannot find if for the life of me. I've reviewed my Wages & Income and Deductions & Credit sections thoroughly and have been unable to find any incorrect/incomplete information that would explain this.
It seems you got an excess Roth IRA contribution carried over from your 2023 return or you entered that you had a previous excess contribution.
If you didn't have an excess contribution from the previous year then please remove the entry:
You might want to check your 2023 return Form 5329 part IV if you had an excess contribution.
Thank you for the response! It turns out the actual solution was a little bit easier than all that. At some point in my taxes I had added a form for IRA accounts. Even though I couldn't find the documents in the standard UI they were there in the background. I was able to use the Tools link and the Delete forms option to look through the different documents in my return and delete the IRA forms.
Once I knew where to look I was able to fix this in no time at all!
