How do I manually enter information for 1099R?

After starting the 1099-R interview, are you referring to a screen that says "Let's import your tax info?"

That search line for a Payer's name/URL is only for importing the 1099-R information, and only if the institution participates.  Many financial institutions are not participating partners with TurboTax for importing purposes.  If your financial institution does not participate as an import partner with TurboTax,  or if you just prefer to enter it manually, here's how to manually enter your 1099-R.

• On that import screen leave the Payer search line blank.
• Scroll down lower on that screen (underneath the logos) and at the bottom right choose "Change how I enter my form".
• On the next screen, which likely says "How do you want to enter your 1099-R?", scroll down to bottom right and choose "Type it in myself."
• Then it will ask what type of 1099-R.  Make your selection for your specific type of form and click "Continue."
• Continue on answering the rest of the screens to enter the data from your 1099-R, and proceed until you are completely out of that topic.
