At the end of filling out my return info when the system does its check of my return, it says "Check This Entry" and suggests "Yes, 1099s were filed should be blank if 1099s were not required" but I can't seem to leave that entry blank. Should I just say "no"?
When unexpected results keep occurring, it is best to return to the original entry.

Mine is under Schedule E for a rental property. I returned to the original entry and it asks whether I made any payments that require me to send a 1099 and I put "no." But when I go to review, in the next question, where it asks, "If yes, did you or will you file all required Form(s) 1099?" the bubble is still filled in for "no." For some reason, it won't let me leave the entry blank and I can't change it in the original entry.
You can say YES to the ''will you send them out'' question. It won't affect your return in any way.
Unfortunately they won't let me e-file now if I put "yes" on the return. Is there any way around this?
Yes, should not be prevented from e-file by answering Yes to the question that you issued 1099's. If that is the case, then change the answer to No and e-file. That question will not affect your return in any way.
