How do I know if I made after-tax additional contributions to qualified retirement accounts?

Did you put any money into your 401K, HSA, or ABLE account, or other retirement account, outside of what you may have contributed through your employer.   Contributions through your employer will show up on your W-2, so those don't need to be entered again.   It is rare, but TurboTax wants to confirm that you did not put money into any of those types of accounts that wasn't already reported on your W-2 or another tax form.   Most people answer NO to that question in the Saver's Credit interview.

For the Retirement Contributions Savings Credit, you are asked to enter the amount of any additional after-tax contributions you made to your retirement plan, over and above your regular tax-free contributions to that plan.  These are considered eligible contributions and may increase your Retirement Savings Credit.   Don’t enter any contributions you’ve made to a traditional or Roth IRA.
