You don’t state what needs to be edited on Form 5329, but one of the two options that follow will work. You’ll need to make your necessary changes in the TurboTax program, not on Form 5329, itself. Form 5329 will then reflect the changes made.
If the erroneous Form 5329 information relates to an IRA contribution, then, in TurboTax Online:
- If you don’t see 2022 TAXES in the left pane, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Deductions & Credits and select Let’s get started, Pick up where you left off, or Review/Edit.
- Otherwise, in the left pane, select the dropdown to the right of Federal, then select Deductions & Credits
- On the Your tax breaks page, scroll down and select Edit to the right of Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions
- On the subsequent pages, make whatever edits are necessary for the primary taxpayer -- the one listed first one the return -- since your issue is with Form 5329-T (T for primary taxpayer)
If the erroneous Form 5329 information relates to an IRA distribution, then, in TurboTax Online:
- If you don’t see 2022 TAXES in the left pane, select the dropdown to the right of Income & Expenses on the Hi, let’s keep working on your taxes! page and then select Let’s get started, Pick up where you left off, or Review/Edit.
- Otherwise, in the left pane, select Federal, then Wages & Income (This is labelled Income & Expenses in TurboTax Self-Employed
- Scroll down and select the Edit/Add dropdown to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
- Select Review to the right of the relevant 1099-R
- Edit as necessary
