Hi, I have a 1099-G form but don't quite know what it is or how to include it in my taxes. It only shows boxes 2&3. Thanks!

It is reporting your state or local tax refund you received in 2016 for a prior year tax return, either 2015 or an earlier year.

To record this in your tax return you can follow these steps while you are logged into your TurboTax Deluxe account.

  • My Account > Tools > Topic Search > Type state refunds > Go
  • Continue to enter the information
  • Click the screenshots attached to enlarge and view for assistance.
