Hello, on my Form 1099-R the box 9a (Your percentage of total distribution) is left blank. So I enter 0 but TurboTax requires a value of at least 0.01. So, wat do?

Don't enter anything. Leave the box  empty in TurboTax. It is not necessary to enter something in every box. If it's blank on the form that you received, leave it blank in TurboTax.

if I leave it blank it say the value must be above.01. Now what?

You must have other boxes with markings. We usually have most of the screen blank. Boxes 1,2, maybe 4, 7 maybe 14-16. You have something else entered to be triggering that question. Do you have an amount on 9b? Perhaps you have a detail page with your form to give supplemental information?

Everything matches the requirements of the previous response. But TurboTax still demands that I enter 0.01.

There is the matching distribution and amount in 1 and 2a. Blanks until 7, which is "7."

Boxes 14 through 16 were automatically and correctly filled in. (No other state involved.)

You can leave Box 9a blank.  This only applies if you received a distribution that only partly belongs to you; that's when you would enter a %.

Here's more info on Box 9a.

If this doesn't resolve the error, delete the 1099-R and re-enter it manually.  If you're using TurboTax Online, you should close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and re-try.

Do not enter "0." Delete the "0" and leave it blank. (It should show a placeholder "%"). That worked for me.

It prefills 0 if you had it pull in the data from a pdf or financial institution, and gets mad when you submit it as 0. delete the 0 so its literally empty instead of "0" and then you can submit it.
