Forms 1098-T and 1099-Q are in my daughter's name and social security number however she is my dependent. Should they be filed with my taxes or my daughter's taxes?

Since you are claiming your daughter as your dependent, you will include the 1098-T and the 1099-Q on your return.

Hint:  In order for TurboTax to correctly calculate all of the education-related expenses and deductions/credits available, you will need to enter the information from the 1099-Q before you enter the 1098-T.

The quickest way to get to the input screen:

  • Sign in to your account and click on the orange Take me to my return button (skip this step if you are already in your return)
  • Click on Search at the top of the screen
  • Input "1099-q" in the search box and hit enter
  • The first link available should be Jump to 1099-q - click on this link
  • You will be taken to the input area
