Form 8606 causes TurboTax to stop; after 1099-R entries, TurboTax askes if any nondeductible contributions. When Yes is checked, TurboTax freezes, any work arounds?

If TurboTax freezes, you should follow the next steps based on what version of TurboTax you are using.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop:

I followed all steps for desktop version of TurboTax listed above and program still freezes at the Form 8606 step. All other parts of TurboTax work fine. Latest version of TurboTax installed. The program seems to be having problem with retrieving the nondeductible IRA amount from my 2023 TurboTax tax return. Both 2023 and 2024 versions of desktop TurboTax are installed on my pc, same file location. When I review the 8606 form being submitted to IRS, all data has been captured. Only problem is the program freezes at the Form 8606 step asking if prior year nondeductible contributions have been made.  Can not find a way to work around the program freezing up at this step.
