If you have 5 charitable entries using step by step, the fifth entry does not show up when looking at the actual 8283 form. Turbotax needs to add in the line E on their form.
It's true that the TurboTax version of the form only has four entry lines. However, if you have more than four entries the system adds as many 8283s as necessary to make sure that all the entries are submitted.
Thanks for your response Robert, and I understand that the program will add additional Form 8283's but the problem I have (as well as everyone else will see) is that if you have 5 entries the program does not add an additional sheet. Only when you get to a 6th entry will the program add an additional 8283 Form but still DOES NOT show the 5th entry. It will start the second sheet with the sixth entry. So the first form 8283 shows entries 1 - 4 and the second sheet starts with entry 6. Entry 5 is never shown on any Form 8283, although it does have a corresponding Charitible Contributions Worksheet and the total deduction includes entry 5 BUT, entry 5 is never shown on any form 8283. A similar thing happen with the second sheet It will show entries 6-9 but will not add a additional form with the 10th entry. Not until you get to the 11th entry will the form be added, but entries 5 and 10 are never shown on any form 8283. I wish someone at Turbotax could check on why this is happening and correct it. I (we) cannot file our return unless all of the charitable contribution show up on Form 8283. It may have something to do with the fact that last year ther were 5 entries on each Form 8283 (versus only 4 this year) and it seems that someone deleted the additional row (Row E) for this year's program but forgot to update the program to add an additional Form 8283 after the 4th entry, instead of the 5th entry. Help! Thank you.
