You do not need to enter your state's Federal Identification Number when you enter your Form 1099-G to process your return.

Just make sure you select the correct state the refund is from and answer the questions on the following screens.

On the form 1099G for Wash DC, the state ID number is blank but I am required to enter it in order to file

Use the Federal Identification Number if the state ID number is blank.

If the 1099-G is for Unemployment, you can go to Online Claim System to get a copy of the 1099-G which should have the number.  Some states are using different numbers so it is best to get the information correct.  @weinberg54
