For the Mass. return, it is asking about the "total distributions for IRA Distributions in previous years". I need to go back all the years and get those $$?

Yes,  There are two questions in that section. 

  • The first asks for how much was previously taxes.  Traditional IRA contributions are not deductible in Massachusetts.  So that should include all contributions. 
  • The second question ask for all distributions prior to 2019.  Yes, you do have to total all of them together.

Thank you...but I'm surprised that TurboTax can't do that for me, as it's been entered on all the returns. ...and I don't ever remember being asked that question before.  Here I go, digging through years of returns, now.
