Does the prior year IRA contributions just mean the amount of money that was in my IRA prior to 2024? For reference, I have never withdrawn any money from my IRA

Also there is a set number already in the text box, but it doesn't match my records. I'm wondering where that number came from.

No, the prior year contributions is asking what you contributed.  The total amount in your IRA includes both contributions and earnings.  The total amount would have come from prior entries in TurboTax.  If the amount does not agree to the actual prior-year contributions, you can edit the field.
