No, contributions to politician or to a political party are not reported on a tax return

No, presidential campaign contribution donations are not tax deductible.  The IRS gives the following list of non-tax deductible donations:

 

  • a political candidate
  • a political party
  • a campaign committee
  • a newsletter fund
  • advertisements in convention bulletins
  • admission to dinners or programs that benefit a political party or political candidate
  • Political Action Committees (PACs)
