Do I report (from form ssa-1099) the portion of my late fathers social security check that I received?

This is from my late fathers final social security check not from my social security.

I think you mean you received an SSA-1099 form in your father's name with his social security number on it. If so, you would need to complete a tax return for him and enter it along with any other income he had, if he was required to file a tax return.
