Do I need to take an RMD on my Missouri teacher's pension plan if I turned 70 1/2 in 2017?

You will be taking an RMD on your pension, but that is already handled for you.

All employer sponsored retirement plans follow the RMD rules, including your Missouri teacher's pension plan. This requirement is met by paying your annuity periodically. So your plan automatically meets the requirements for RMDs. See the answers below for more information.
